What is ivault,
and how does it work?
Every single person has probably lost something once. And maybe you are thinking now: I lost something that was very important to me once. Something that wasn’t even worth much money. But nevertheless, it meant a lot to you.
Unfortunately, it is these things we tend to lose every so often (besides carry-around valuables like wallets, smartphones, and keys). Things that are not worth much but have a very special meaning.
Some of us do not own much at all. But this makes the few things we own even more valuable. And every now and then, we find ourselves missing something that is right there. We just have to open our eyes to see it.
With this blog entry, we want to answer a simple question you might have (since you’ve found your way here): What is ivault, and how does it work? However, this introduction to ivault is not a mere operation manual on how to find lost items.
ivault is more than you might think. Be patient and read on, as I will tell you what’s in it for you. And it’s a lot.
Why ivault?
A short introduction.
Have you ever heard of one of those spectacular lost and found stories on the internet? In Brussels, for example, some construction workers found gold bars worth €200,000 in a random sewer. As it remained unclear who the owner was, they had the right to keep half of it as a finder’s reward!
Nice, huh? And there are even more curious stories of archeological finds on private properties… Now, have you ever wondered if there is an invaluable treasure waiting for you right next door…?
But wait! Before you stop reading now (and start a digital detox tour digging for dinosaurs in the yard), there is yet another aspect to treasure hunts to keep in mind. It is the social side of the coin — as the saying goes:
Maybe the real treasure was the friends we made along the way. #feltcutetoday
So far, so good — but what does this have to do with ivault? What is ivault? Here’s the answer you’ve been waiting for.
What is ivault?
ivault is the world’s first blockchain-based social network and a lost and found app in one. With our free and easy-to-use mobile app, you can not only find lost things, but also protect what’s yours — your valuables and all sorts of things that are important to you. More so, ivault is a social community app for locals to find local help when you need it. And never miss a thing.
In case of a loss or theft, for example, you can report something as missing in a fast and easy way and the ivault community can help you find it on the spot.

What is ivault™? A lost and found app? A neighborhood app? Or some blockchain social media thing? — clearly, nothing like any other community app before… so, maybe the real question is what ivault is not. 😉
Would you like to use the ivault App right away? ▼ Click here to find out how to start
…or are you thinking: What’s so special about it? Why should I use another social app? Or: Why would I need a lost and found app, when I didn’t lose anything yet? Well, the answer is, in fact, very plain: Numbers are rising… (and we don’t want you to become part of the lost/stolen stats in the future)
Note: If you are concerned with the energy consumption of Blockchain Technology: ivault is working with a highly scalable and sustainable Blockchain. And it’s NOT Bitcoin (or other cryptocurrencies).
Statistics on lost items and theft
Millions of things get lost every day. Unfortunately, it’s probably right to say: Somewhere in the world, a person has just noticed their smartphone is gone — the very second you read this sentence.
- Phones and wallets get left behind in clubs all the time.
- Wedding rings tend to escape pockets and bury themselves at the beach somehow.
- Watches get lost at the fitness studio.
- Cars and bikes get stolen.

What is ivault and why use it? Plain and simple: Because numbers are rising. Just look at these statistics on lost items, stolen bikes reported, and burglaries committed worldwide…
Children are throwing massive amounts of things they are attached to out of their strollers. Just to start crying 5 min later and not stop for hours. But, even in that case, the lost and found platform in the ivault App offers the perfect solution. Thanks to the large community of ivault users from your area, you can find lost things and get them back with ease.
Think about the little things in our everyday lives that can be very valuable to us. Somehow, it’s not just material things you lose, am I right?
Months of hard work are just gone when your laptop gets stolen. A bunch of lost keys would cause you so much trouble! (You would have to break into your house — or rather: pay others to do so). And you don’t lose an accessory if the necklace you lost was a present by someone you love. It can have so many emotional memories stored in it. It’s simply irreplaceable.

Some things are irreplaceable. If they get lost, you want them to be found. It’s not about their material value but because of a personal meaning and all the memories they are bearing…
Just think of the last time you wanted to report something important as quickly as possible to as many people as possible. Like a missing pet. But that wasn’t so easy, was it? In fact, it should have been much easier long before! (Don’t we have this thing called technology?)
So, well, don’t think about it anymore. It’s too frustrating. And besides, the era of things that are gone forever is over now. Join the community now and never miss a thing: ► Download the ivault App now.
Here’s how it works.
How does ivault work?
To sum it up, ivault is not quite about finding lost treasures in the utmost ridiculous places (like gold bars in sewers…). It is much more of a real thing that anyone can benefit from — not just one or two lucky guys (in a sewer). That is thanks to the global community of ivault users, who can help you with anything you need.

How to use the ivault App
Above, I already answered the question: What is ivault? Basically, it is new and alternative trusted social network app using Blockchain to protect and find lost things (#muchWow 😉) Also, ivault is more of a community of people helping each other rather than just another app. So, here are some things you can do with the ivault App – from personal property protection to social engagement in your local community:
- Protect your valuables ▼
- Find lost or stolen items ▼
- Provide proof of ownership ▼
- Connect with your local community ▼
- Give back and help others ▼

What is ivault all about? Protect, connect, share & give back. Because we want to make a difference.
Meanwhile, we use our award-winning Blockchain-based solution to guarantee the highest level of data security to protect your personal privacy. We will talk about this in a bit. But for now, have fun exploring the ivault App – with the simple starter guide below:
1. Protect your belongings
ivault allows you to protect your valuables and other things that are important to you with the super-high security standard of our advanced Blockchain architecture.
Protect my belongings? My insurance got that covered for me, you may think now. And yeah, it does… partly. Good insurances will compensate you for something you lost or in case of a theft. But will they bring you back your deceased grandfather’s watch (that probably means a lot more to you than the money you get)? Most likely not…
But, luckily, that is what the ivault community can do for you. Therefore, the ivault lost and found app allows you to register items as a precaution. You can then easily report them as lost or stolen later if needed.
Adding items to your private vault is one of the main app features: Your vault is completely private, 100% securely encrypted, and hacker-proof – thanks to our patented Blockchain solution. It works like a digital safe for data stored on your smartphone. Only you can access your private vault and see what’s inside. Here are is how you can add and secure your belongings:
► How to register and secure items in the ivault App
- Log in (or create an account).
- Click on Add an item to my vault (100% private and secure thanks to a professional Blockchain design).
- Name your item, e.g., Grandpa’s watch. Click Next.
- Add a description of your item. Be sure to include any special details and unique characteristics it might have, like a personal engraving. Click Next.
- Add a photo of your item. A clear image increases the chances of finding something you lost again by 50%. Try to focus on district features like scratches, a barcode, or other details that make this item unique.
- You can take more pictures or upload images of some details, for example. Click Next.
- Does it look correct? Take a moment to confirm the details are correct. Re-edit your entry if needed.
- Click on Register the item in my vault.
- Click Save.
Here’s what your private vault looks like. You are welcome to share this picture with others:

Congratulations, you have prepared for the worst! If something goes missing, you can report it in just a few seconds now and get help fast. And even though, we hope it doesn’t happen at all, here’s how it works.
2. Find lost or stolen items
ivault is the first blockchain-based lost and found app to report missing items and reach out to millions of people all over the planet in a matter of seconds to help you find something you’ve lost:
- Publish a lost and found post to notify other users about your lost item.
- The algorithm will find users on the spot with the best chances to find it for you (those in the right place at the right time).
- When someone finds it, they can contact you via the app and return it to you right away.
And that’s it. At least, that’s the core idea of the ivault App… but not the full story yet! Of course, ivault, as a new social network, offers you more than a button to report missing hats and cats.
Also, please note that I’m not joking about missing cats here (far too serious matter). When it comes to missing pets, it is so essential to inform lots of people in a certain perimeter as quickly as possible. It’s one of the reasons why I want to tell you more about the ivault Community App’s main features now.

What is ivault, and how does it work? Pet owners can use the ivault App to find lost pets fast. Report missing cats and dogs and get help from your local community searching the neighborhood for your missing pet.
So, imagine, for a moment, you’ve lost your watch. With the second main feature “Report a lost or stolen item” you can make a public post to increase your chances of getting it back quickly:
- A pre-registered watch in the ivault App enables you to report it as missing with just a few clicks. You’ve already done all the work, like adding a detailed description, before. Luckily, you already added a picture of your watch in your private vault, too. For most people, it will be understandably hard to get a good shot of a lost item after it is gone…
- But don’t worry, if you haven’t registered your lost item before! You can also report something as missing even if you haven’t used the ivault App before. Just make sure to describe your lost item in as much detail as possible. Focus on unique characteristics – you might even add a drawing if you don’t have any pictures!
Read this blog entry to find out more about how to increase your chances of finding a lost item: ► How to find something you lost with the ivault App
And here it is in short again:

Report lost or stolen items with the ivault App: How to post about and find lost things with the ivault lost and found app — with only one simple post.
For now, check out what else you can do with our alternative Blockchain-powered platform — to get even more out of it.
3. Provide proof of ownership
After registering items you want to protect in your private vault, you can manage all of your assets in one super-safe place right on your smartphone. You can also turn on the option Lend this item to the community to share, for example, gardening tools with your neighbors. Find out more about social app features below… ▼
One of the best parts of it is that you now have a verified — time-stamped and immutable — mobile proof of ownership for every item you added to your private vault. It’s one of the things that make Blockchain such great technology for protecting data and anything else that can be stored on the Blockchain. Blockchain applications can even be used for saving lives!)
The data you entered (like each item you added to your vault) cannot be changed by anyone anymore. No one can hack or manipulate your entry, and this ultimately proves you’re the rightful owner of the items you registered in the ivault App.

Blockchain-based security architecture to protect physical assets and personal data. And provide proof of ownership.
Now, to prove ownership is critical to get back something you’ve lost, of course. Someone who found lost keys wants to be sure to return them to the rightful owner — and not hand it out to the wrong person! As an ivault user with a timestamped entry in the app, you can prove that you are the one and only rightful owner. And, thanks to Blockchain, there is absolutely no doubt about it!
So, a finder, in turn, is 100% sure that they are giving the key to the right person. It doesn’t even matter how old your entry is. It proves undoubtedly that these keys belong to you.
4. Connect with people around you (and meet new friends)
With ivault, you can connect with people, and maybe even meet new friends. Wherever you live or whatever far-away-from-home place you are in now, ivault helps you get in touch with the local community on the spot. Search for local opportunities and events around you, a garage sale or a garage to rent, tools to borrow, or a babysitter for tomorrow night. Or you can get in touch with people from the place you want to travel to!
Thus, ivault can be both
- a neighborhood app to connect with people next door and meet new friends
- and even a social travel app to get in touch with locals from totally different places.

What is ivault? ivault is a secure social app for local communities to find help when you need it … and possibly even meet new friends from around town — with the highest level of cybersecurity possible.
5. Give back and help others
ivault is a new Blockchain-based social network that brings people together — both locally and globally. But what is ivault all about, why use another social app? ivault is a social innovation to help strengthen local communities, social engagement, solidarity, honesty, and trust.
What we want to create is a social engagement platform for all the open-minded locals that are part of a greater global community. Finding lost things may just be a small part of it (which nevertheless was desperately screaming for a digital solution).
However, we designed ivault to support people at large (that includes our solutions for businesses) to help make the world a little better. One step at a time. We want to support people who care about others. People who want to be socially engaged. People who want to contribute to the greater good. And we want to make it as easy as possible for everyone who is willing to do so.

► How to be socially engaged with the ivault App
ivault is, above all, a social engagement platform. And rather than talking about all this Blockchain social network stuff, let’s go into some details. Here are 4 more social community features for you to connect with people around you and help out your local community.
- Alert your hub: Update others about certain happenings in your area, such as construction sites or accidents, as well as special offers or occasions close by.
- I found something: Post about something you found and return it to the rightful owner. You might even get a finder’s reward.
- Lend an item: Help out people next door by lending and sharing things.
- Ask the community: You can ask for advice, opinions, tips, invite others to meet up with you, or simply ask if anyone needs help with something.

Help out your neighbors: How to be socially engaged and find help in your local community through the ivault Mobile App.
That’s what ivault means to us.
If COVID-19 has shown us one thing, it is that there are many good human beings in the world, indeed. So many people were helping each other despite the need for social distancing, staying home and locked down inside. Our little digital friends — namely smartphones — prompted us to support locals every day. And thanks to neighbors helping neighbors and locals supporting each other (mainly digitally), somehow, a greater sense of global community emerged.
Today, if something local happens, the whole world can watch — through smartphones. And during the peaks of the global crisis, it was much the same situation in so many different places. I think all of that made it much easier, to perceive that we are all in this together…
Helping others and giving back to this global community even on a local basis is so important that we could even say:
ivault is more about preserving values rather than protecting valuables.
We want to show that there are, in fact, many good people all over this planet whom we can rely on when we need help. We want to contribute to making the world a little better by using Blockchain Technology to offer a much safer platform for real social engagement than most of today’s apps.
Of course, this is just a tiny step, as we cannot solve all the world’s problems at once — even though we want to. However, if you are interested in helping us and supporting your fellows all over the world:
► Download the app here and become part of the ivault community.
